Shopping Malls

Popular malls with students are located in the Seef district:

City Center Mall:

This is the largest mall in Bahrain and has all international high street stores as well as designer labels. It also houses a Cineplex, a play area, and large indoor water park "Wahoo", a bowling alley, an arcade, and a huge food court. There are also many multicultural sit-down restaurants and many coffee shops which are useful for studying. The large hypermarket Carrefour is located on the ground floor.

Seef Mall:

This mall is older and quieter. It contains the same type of stores and a cinema complex, but offers a larger selection of sit-down restaurants, and two food courts, as well as many commercial offices for banks and companies. One of the main attractions at Seef Mall tends to be Maya La Chocolaterie, which is a famous chocolate desserts and drinks place.

Aali Mall:

Aali mall is located right next to Seef Mall and houses many upscale designer stores as well as House of Uniforms, which is where most students get their white lab coats made.

Bahrain Mall:

This mall is the last in the line of malls and contains a larger Geant hypermarket. It also has many excellent stores for cosmetics and accessories, as well as a Home Centre for furniture and decorations.

Dana Mall:

This is a smaller older mall with many perfume shops and Lulu Hypermarket for excellent groceries.

Malls in other areas:

Moda Mall:

This mall is located in the Diplomatic Area and is Bahrain’s classiest mall with only designer stores and five-star restaurants.

Oasis Mall

This is a small mall located in Muharraq with branches of eMax for electronics and City Max for clothing and household items.

Cinemas

Major cinemas release movies on Wednesday at 12:00 am. Cinema tickets are typically BD 3.00 at major cinemas and BD 4.00 for 3D movies.

Al-Jazira Cinema (Muharraq):

Is a small theater next to the McDonalds. It is close to the university but has a very limited movie selection.

City Center Cinema (City Center Mall):

is the largest Cineplex. located within the City Center Mall. 

Saar Cinema (Saar):

It is located further out of town.

Dana Cinema (in Dana Mall, in Manama):

This theater is not a part of Cineco so it shows different movies and most of those movies are the latest releases.

Seef Cinema (Seef Mall):

This is a large cinema and shows many of the same movies as City Center.
